Meet our team
Our caring and committed team of veterinary professionals have a drive for helping animals live their best lives. We comfort, we listen, we solve, we understand. Progressive medicine is our passion and animals are our true love.
Dr Ryan Ridgway
I grew up on a cattle and grain farm just outside of Avonlea, an hour south of Regina, Saskatchewan. Growing up on a mixed farm started me on the path to becoming a veterinarian early. I've always had many pets from cows to horses, chickens to cats, frogs and salamanders to rabbits. My whole life I've striven to understand how animals think and feel. Even now, I try to make my visits with my patients as stress free as possible.
Dr Lynn Smart-Ridgway
I was raised on a small farm near Tulameen. Along with the usual farmyard menagerie of horses, pigs, sheep, chickens and dogs, was an assortment of more unusual pets. Tame squirrels, song birds, Canada geese and deer were all a part of growing up in the country. I was an animal lover from the earliest age, and always knew I wanted to spend my life helping them in some way.
Emma - Registered Veterinary Technician
I have always been a horse and pet lover, and have been driven to learn about animal behaviour and health from an early age. I obtained my first post-secondary degree in Equine Studies (BSc) at Writtle Agricultural College, University of Essex, UK. I then graduated as a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the UK in 2001. I have had a varied career including equine nursing at two large equine referral hospitals, mixed farm and equine practice and small animal practice in the UK and BC.
I moved to Princeton with my husband and menagerie of animals in 2010. I love calling our small town home, and am now raising a young family here. I also enjoy running, snowboarding, and most of all riding.

Alissa - Office Manager
I am a born-and-raised Princeton-ite, and after many years away, my husband and I returned to friendly small-town life. I have always been interested in animals, which lead me to attain a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Simon Fraser University. My other interests include baking and camping, and enjoying life with our lovable little dog, Sparco. I enjoy meeting all the friendly faces that visit the vet clinic, as well as their owners!
Mariia - Veterinary Technician
I am a Ukrainian Veterinarian who recently moved to Canada. I practiced in a busy small animal hospital in Ukraine for several years, before immigrating to Canada due to the conflict with Russia. I am in the process of having my veterinary license re-accredited in Canada, and am working as a veterinary technician until my Canadian license is completed. I enjoy cooking and gardening, and Maine Coon cats.
Susan - Receptionist
Jen - Veterinary Assistant
I moved to Princeton after living in Saskatchewan for 10 years. There I looked after the family farm, boarded horses, dog sat, and worked at the local SPCA shelter. I have always loved animals and currently have two dogs, Izzy and Bruiser, and a horse named Jewel. I am also a proud mom to a sweet little boy. I enjoy travelling, swimming, skiing, camping, horse riding, and family time with my husband and son.
Michelle - Custodian
Gary - Custodial Assistant
I am an animal lover who lives on a small farm near Tulameen. I enjoy reading, studying nature, spending time with my dog Gyp, and computers. I am author of a book on edible plants of the Tulameen area; I have autism spectrum disorder and donated the proceeds from my book to the Canucks Autism Network. I enjoy my work assisting with cleaning and organization at Cascade Veterinary Clinic, but my favourite part is greeting and visiting with clients and helping with their heavy purchases.
